hello all,
i have suse linux 7(kernel 2.2.16) installed in my system
my friend is trying to log into my system via a phone line
i'm using mgetty for this purpose
the user name for this is sayam and the userid is 500 and the group he is 
placed in is "users"
he uses hyper terminal of windows as the communication program (his modem 
does not work under linux)
now whenever he tries to dial in he goes as far as the login prompt and as 
soon as he enters "sayam" and hits enter he gets disconnected
he has tried around ten times and and always the same thing happened
what can be the problem? please help
