well kingsley,I was just giving a pointer.I have 2 check this myself as I too
have a creative infra drive.so lemme check out and post the results.also I
found a xmms plugin using lirc in that site.

the link you have given will only allow the lirc virtual remote to control
a creative infra CD rom drive !!
