u can assign multiple IPs the the same interface by using ifconfig and the 
interface name with :1 , :2 appended.
i.e.,
        ifconfig eth0:1 192.168.1.2 .....
u can also use linuxconf and add additional ipaddresses/netmask to an 
interface in the _ Ipaliases for virtual hosts _section of netconf-> 
servertasks secition.
basically redhat stores scripts to be run at start time by the network 
initscript in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts for each interface and its 
details.so u can also manually edit these files or add files if u want and 
understand the format.
