Hi,
I am not able to start X in my freeBSD 4.x (just downloaded the iso
image and installed). The XFree86 server was old (some 3.x) and on their
website they claimed that the recent 4.x version supports i801 chip set with
FreeBsd 4.1 or more.. so instantly sownloaded and upgraded the XF86 server to
the new 4.x one..
Now the problem is, after configuring with xf86config, when i run
startx the screen goes blank and the system hangs.. the led of the monitor
goes on and off periodically for a while.. i am not able to do anything..
ctr-alt-backspace does'nt works. and ctr-alt-del responds after a while.. and
hence i am forced to use it only....
the logs in /var/log/XF86log do not show any kind of error...
any help (fast if possible.. i am stranded with this problem) will be
greatly appreciated....
