Heh. Redhat has been quite inept in this. FWIW, I would suggest
downloading the source and compiling it - for at least stuff that you know
you will need and use daily.
1. kernel
2. bind / $nameserver
3. sendmail / $mta
4. apache (and php, mysql, etc)
5. perl
6. gcc <- the most important of them all
