Why do you need a htaccess file to run tomcat ?? can't you add the
directive to the httpd.conf itself ??

They are really good... proof is that I managed to install both tomcat and
cocoon without knowing anything about jsp/servlets/XML/XSL .war or
whatever!
Simply followed the procedure and it worked!
So the advice is pretty simple RTFM !! ;-)
