Hello friends,

Is there any way I can use a compressed file system,
The one that does compression / decompression on the fly,
Like Stacker did for windows ??? (or doublespace)

I am aware of tools that allow to run a compressed binary directly,
But that's not what I am looking for.

My main areas of interest & application are the log (mounted as seperate
partition / filesystem)
& maildir (used by qmail) as these are mainly text data, upto 70%
compression can be achieved.

Any Options or Variations of ext2 etc. can achieve this ???
This can greatly increase disk space & disk bandwidth.
Higher CPU utilisation is not a concern with high speed processors these
days.

Any Suggestions or Directions will be highly appreciated.

Regards
Mustafa M
