hi,
this has never happened to me before with the PCQ
linux distributions, but, with this 7.1 distribution,
my system refuses to budge.
well, my system is not capable of booting from the CD
- it is an old 100MHz pentium with 16MB ram. this was
a linux-only PC, with Redhat 6.2 in it. i wanted a
fresh install of PCQ linux 7.1, and, i formatted the
whole HDD. made a windows partition in it, copyied
loadlin, vmlinuz and initrd.img in the partition.
then, used "loadlin vmlinuz initrd=initrd.img" to
start the installation.
things start working, but, just when the first step
of installation screen is about to be shown, i get the
message "your system does not have enough memory to
install redhat 7.1", with an "ok" button. pressing
this button just brings down the system.
i also tried passing "mem=16M" as an argument. nope.
no change.
i guess someother people here would have faced a
similar problem - kindly help! i don't want to go
through the exercise that someone has already done.
regards,
arvind.
