 Put "usepeerdns" in /etc/ppp/options to automatically insert the ISP's dns
 entries in /etc/resolv.conf when you dialup.

 Play around with your ppp settings.  There are lots of things you can do to
 tune a ppp connection (enabling compression, setting MTU / MRU etc).  Then
 suspect Satyam's connection, which is admittedly erratic.
