I am not sure what a friend with only DOS would do with a linux executable. But
assuming you wanted to share files with a DOS user -- just copy the files into a
DOS formatted floppy. It's perfectly usable under linux. You could either mount
the floppy using VFAT as the filesystem type or, more conveniently, use mtools.

No probs ... But I'd suggest that you read up on Unix and Linux. There are lots
of excellent books available. It would get you up to speed on the fundas.
