Good Linux to e'body,
Pl tell me :

I always wonder what can be the favourite flavour of Linux and the
favourite client-applications of the seniours in the Linux world. It is
out of curiosity i.e one thing and also after so many years of
experience these fellows must have settled down for the best
Distro-Apps combination.
It can certainly help the "newbees" like me to decide for a better
combination. Or is it the other way around ? I mean is it possible that
after getting "bored" with the same distro & apps. , seniors are trying
their hands in more troubled water ?
Any how, how about telling your favourites in the Linux world ( with
some comment, if possible and in preffered order, if more than one )
i.e. :

Linux Distro :

In X environment
-----------------
Desktop:
Window-Manager:
Office-suite, if any ( Star office etc. ):
Text-editor:
Multi-media Apps :
FileCompression Utility:
Browser:
Mail Agent:

In Shell prompt
---------------
FileCompression Utility:
Browser:
Mail Agent:
TextEditor:

Servers & Others ( if using ):
----------------------------
Web server:
File server:
Prog. Languages:
Database:

I may have goofed up here & there, so pl. forgive me for the same. My
only source for Linux, uptil now was Magazines.
But my little knowledge, I have started appriciating muLinux ( for
simplicity ) RH6.2 ( for variety ) and mutt, pine,mc and NScape. Sorry,
I don't have much to tell.
Though I am a little good at Turbo C/C++, Linux C's concepts are
somewhat different, so trying to capture it.

Regards & thanks in advance !
