you have to configure samba properly,use a tool like swat or gnosamba,if ur
not comfortable with the config file.first you have to configure the
domain/workgroup etc,next the security level.if u want domain auth,then u
have to add a machine account for the linuxbox in the windows domain.and also
join the linux machine in the windows domain using the smbpasswd command.
or make samba do share level auth.the the samba docs.in /usr/share/doc it has
good HOWTOs etc.RTFM
