Does not really matter. If you get enough responses, you can
definitely comple the results for the benefit of all.

FYI**, there was a global "most popular linux distro" survey
done at the end of last year by some US agency. I also voted.
I forget the URL (rather I purged my favourites when it became
unweildy). Votes closed on 31 Dec 2000. There must be others
on this list who voted and may have marked the URL.

IIRC, the final results were something like this:

Debian ......... 32%
Slackware ...... 24%
RH ............. 14%
SuSE .......... 8%
Mandrake ....... 6%
Others ......... 16%

Slackware was leading till 30 Nov, but after this was
announced on the debian-user mailing list, suddenly the votes
for debian took it from a close second to first within days !

The RH types should not despair, because the RH votes got split
between RH, Mandrake and SuSE (all rpm based). As of now it is
approx 33% for .deb, and 25% each for .tgz and .rpm zealots. If
you split the Others group into these 3 format based divisions,
it should be almost neck to neck ...

Popularity rating of window managers, editors etc has not been
done yet. This may be worth taking up ... but definitely not
within the confines of a mailing list !

** Add FYI = "For Your Info" to your abbvn list, (just
remembered).
