Okay I have a HAndspring Visor which is abso entry level stuff. I would have
really advised you to head for a visor simply because of the expandabilty via
their springboard modules which lets you add extra memory, use a backup
module, turn your pda into a mp3 player or even a phone (though I don't know
if the visorphone supports gsm). I have added an extra 8m memory to mine.

But this advice is redundant as the newer palms support expandabilty albeit
of a different kind. Though the Handspring is still ahead where it comes to
no of modules offered.

If you are buying a plam m500 or m505 which are now being marketed in India,
please make sure you *do not* buy the ones that are made in Hungary, I have
heard that they have some sort of a bug while using graffiti and the screen
is also somewhat smaller.

If you buy a palm or handspring with a recahrgeable battery (which is
almost all the pda's except for the m100 and the visor) please for God's sake
make sure you check the voltage *before* you plug it in :)

I am at present trying to make my visor sync with pcqlinux using coldsync. I
have managed to backup all the data from the pda to the pc but can't get it
yet to sync. Will keep the list informed of any furhter misadventures re
this.

regards,

Sharukh.
