Go to http://www.sendmail.org/~ca/ - there's a howto on how to get sendmail
up and running (from installing it onwards). Or the rpm package you get
should work right out of the box.
If you have specific doubts, ask.

To convert a DOS text file to Unix so that the extra ASCII 13
does not show up when viewing / editing a DOS text file.
If you have recode package installed you may use the following
alias in your .profile or /etc/profile:
alias unix2dos='recode lat1..ibmpc'
alias dos2unix='recode ibmpc..lat1'
