We had installed Linux 6.2 and was working fine in all aspects till this morning. But, when typed the user name to log into the system it was not asking for the password, but clears the screen & is asking for the user name again. At this stage i tried to connect to the same system thru telnet, I was getting hte "Trying/Connecting to" message & finaly the connection to the host lost. But I'm getting the proper message whenI tried to connect thru telnet to port 21 & 110. Even ftp is working fine. This is with respect to Run Level 3. I rebooted the system by pressing ctrl+alt+del & directly went into runlevel 5. At this stage i was able to login to the system locally & all other functions namely pop3,smtp,ftp & squid are working fine but still i'm not able to login thru other sessions or thru telnet. If anyone had faced such a problem or they are aware about the solution for it kindly instruct me to proceed further.
