Hello wise guys !
I've just become an MCP in desktop apps with VB6. I did it just for
the heck of it. I am using linux for nearly 3 years, and mostly did C
and C++ programming on it, but not a gr8 programmer though.
Anyway what i really want is to be in development of applications on
linux side. So i was just wondering if there is something like Visual
Basic that can be used for developing frontends in linux. I have heard
of GTK+ for this but don't know much about it.
I would like to use MySQL / PostgreSQL as backend.
Now can somebody of you recommend me which database is better and
which tools to use for App develpment. I'm not very much comfortable
with C++ so thats why don't wish to use it. Also if you can recommend
any books on frontend and database development in linux that would
also be appreciated.
