Sendmail does only one job, mail transportation ... It  merely 
sends your mail from your box across the network (inclusive of 
internet). It does not do what a mail distribution  agent like 
Procmail does (except for local mail).

Your mail from POP, IMAP or  ETRN  servers are brought to your
box using fetchmail, and neither sendmail or procmail.

Procmail only works if you ask it to work. Nothing is  automa-
tic. Please see documentation and man pages for procmail.
