Admittedly, it may not be half as user friendly as Mac or for
that matter even M$-Win. But once you get the hang of things
it is perhaps easier ...
The problem in your case seem to be:
a) Inadequate library support. You need certain development
libs installed in your box for programs to be compiled. To
the best of my knowledge these are seperately packaged by
RH (don't know if they came with the PCQ distro).
b) Your installed libraries may not be adequate. If you want
to run some old programs some old comaptibility libs would
be needed as well ...
If you have any specific problem regarding installing or com-
piling some specific package, please post the specifics, and
you will get responses from the list .. lots of folk on PCQ-RH
on this list ... General dis-satisfaction is very difficult to
address, and you will get nowhere ...
