I'm not sure if USB modems work under linux... but this is how you'd get
any USB device to work...

you need to load the usb drivers first (dependent on you mobo)... usbcore
and one of either usb-ohci/usb-uhci/uhci

and then u need to load the driver for your modem... or if there is a
USB-SerialPort driver.... you can load that... and then use that serial
port to connect using wvdial.
