i have the following queries regarding NFS:
i) can a directory of a FAT32 partition mounted on the server b exported
to a client using NFS. both server and client are running pcql7.1.
i get a Permission denied message on the client when trying to mount the
directories. other standard linux dirs (on ext2)get mounted without any
probs.
ii) one of the boxes does not show nfsd or mountd in the output of
rpcinfo -p
it does show portmapper.
cat /proc/filesystems doesn't show any nfs entry.
but lsmod does show sunrpc, and other nfs related modules.
chkconfig --list shows that nfs is on.
i want to use this box as an nfs server. why dont i get nfsd or mountd
in the output of rpcinfo command??
