If you find that non-contiguous blocks are too high. You can move the stuff to 
another partition and move it back to original space. In this process file 
system will make sure that files are written contigously.

Note that I said move and not copy.

Non-contigous blocks do not affect performance typically uptil 3%. Filesystems 
like ext2 reiserfs usually make sure that there are minimum non-contiguous blocks.

I would advice you to take care of your data only e.g. any database docuements 
etc. No need to mess around system i.e. /usr/,/lib etc. Leave them alone.

Frankly don't worry. It will take care of itself. Just keep it away from a power 
crash if possible. That's the worst thing that can happen to a file system.
