Regenerate a fresh file from the sendmail.mc you get (remove the entry about
127.0.0.1 in there first - comment it out or delete the line, better).
You need the sendmail-cf rpm for this.
[First download the updated rpm from redhat - 8.11.6 is the latest rpm
release]
