Not exactly Linux ... its GNU ! Its GNU Not Unix !

Linux is a kernel, and runs on platforms where the
normally *nix giants  don't  play ... neither does  
Linux run on many of those platforms.

The basic objective of minix was to bring  *nix to
the  common  man on  lesser platforms ... and what
Linus started off with was " ... to build a better
minix than minix" ... What set the  wheels  moving
was GNU which started long before linux ...
