deaar linuxers my letter was about the ultimate"INDIAN" machine a machine which can be built with commonly avilable components neither GE force 3 or p4 2ghz is avilable even i845 is not freely avilable if its avilable and p4 sys is for no to whome price is nota problem so they can go for rddram (256*2)if i845 is avilable sdram is the best costeffective option
any time asus and intel will give better performance but the performance increase is only 2% to 3% even in graphic applications whic is negligible but the price increase is around 50 % to 100 % > > hi > first of all, for graphics card, how abt a geforce 3 > based thing??? > for the p4 1.7 (never heard of any 1.7ghz) what abt > a 2 gig?? > moreover, i will suggest anyone going out to buy a > rdram based sys to wait > for a few more months, rdram is going thru > problems..and the new intel 845 > chipset makes things even worse. > and u need to specify the scsi card that is to be > used... > the configs for the other machines seemed to be ok, > tho, i don't know why u > are going for mercury mobo...asus and intel gives > quite a nice performance > cheers > Sayamindu > PS: and if this is any sort of recommendation, then > plzz make sure tha u > give more details ( cabinets, modems, network cards, > speakers..etc) > > > > ********************************************************************* > *http://sayamindu.topcities.com/ > * > *Linux madcow.insane 2.4.12 #2 Fri Oct 19 21:28:20 > IST 2001 i686 * > * > * > *Support the SETI AT HOME project at > http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/* > ********************************************************************* > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at > http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp > ____________________________________________________________ *NEW* Connect to Yahoo!
