hi,
Today, while playing with fonts gtk and linux, I got the success in
displaying Bangla fonts in Linux. Please check it out in the attached image.
I have used "shymal" font (ttf format) from bharat bhasaha project
(www.bharatbhasha.net) and converted it to afm format. So I feel the
complete multilingual editor/word-processor in Indian language is very
much possible and easy. Is there any contributer in the list?

I will post the source and the complete howto about this in web as soon
as I manage some free time in the weekend. Before that, please allow me
to hack some more.... ;-D

If there is someone in the list from Calcutta lug, please post it there
also... I donno the mailing list addr of kolkata-lug
