I have a creative soundblaster live value sound card (emu10k1 chipset). I've been using the emu10k1 driver that comes with the kernel (using 2.4.13 presently). I'm wondering if shifting to the ALSA drivers will give me any significant improvement in performance or capability.
Has anyone compared the performance or the emu10k1 drivers in the kernel with that supplied by ALSA? Is there any particular benefit in switching to the ALSA drivers for this soundcard?
