I dont know about MIME encoding, but u can certainly uuencode ur binary
data and send. At the receiving end, the uuencoded data will have to be
cut out from the mail and uudecoded. Certainly It wouldn't be a difficult
task to write a script for this.

Check out manpages of uuencode and uudecode. This is a simple way of
converting binary data to ascii and send as a mail.
