My PC config. is
P III , 800 MHz. OS RedHat 7.1 kernel 2.2.16-22smp
Ethernet card - 3com 10/100 PCI, 100 Mbps wirespeed.
I am using netperf , ttcp tools to measure the performance of my TCP/IP
stack i.e measuring the throughput in Mbps.
I have 2 questions reagarding this
1. What is the standard TCP/IP performance(in Mbps) one gets for
this configuration ?? i.e. for a standalone m/c
2. What is the standard TCP/IP performance one gets, if 2 PCs(same
configuration) are communicating over a subnet ?
can anyone give me these numbers so that i can confirm it with the numbers
i am getting. (approx. figures will do )
