Hi all,
I wan't to surf by using a proxy server so that whatever websites i
visit, all the images etc are cached. I had installed squid and
configured to listen on port 3128, also configured my browser to listen
on port 3128.I had set the rules as http_port 3128, cache_mem 10MB,
cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid 100 16 256, http_access allow all.Now i
find that even though squid is working and i am surfing by proxy not
much is cached and i end up with the usual speed. Do I have to use
ipchains or ipfwadm to redirect to the proxy or do I have to add some
rules which says to the proxy to cache as much as possible ? Pls do tell
me if I need to add extra rules to the proxy and if u can suggest me
some tools which sort of act like a proxy and cache most of the stuff in
a website [not junkbuster], something like Net Sonic in Windoze which i
have to say [sorry guys] is GOOD!!!.I tried searching for a tool like
Net Sonic in freshmeat, rpmfind , google etc, no luck, HELP ME !!!.
