You also need to set a relevant *Subject* field while posting the message. your subject "Re: [LIH] Re: linux-india-help digest, Vol 1 #932 - 12 msgs" doesn't say anything about DNS or Apache or ping ! |but when I add a new site, suppose |www.foo1.com, the website is working but when I ping |www.foo1.com, the reply comes from www.foo.com You machine is working perfectly okay. virtualhosting is only for apache not for ping !! :o) When you ping a machine the hostname you see is found by doing a reverse DNS lookup... and the reverse DNS for an IP can only resolve to one hostname. so even if you add a 100 virtualhosts.. the output of ping will only come from with the actual hostname.
