I had tried to partition my hard disk and install
mandrake 8.1 with my redhat 7.1
every thing went smooth, it was installing and had
finished two cds. then it asked for a third cd. when i
inserted the third cd. it said it was the wrong cd.
there was an option also to ignore installation from
the third cd.after removooomng the third cd I chose
that option. the program kind of got stuck and i could
not do any more.
then when I tried redoing the installation,
repartitioning again. it would not proceed. it kept
gving this error-"ldconfig not found" and also "hdlist
not found". when i examined my redhat dir tree I found
a whole lot of other directories in the / dir. i tried
wiping out whatever I could recognnize as new and redo
the install. it did not work.
any advice on how i can solve this problem. and
install both linuxes.thanks in advance.
