I cannot comment about servers working in mdk linux.
But mdk is good for desktop as most of the configurations are done 
automatically.  System is so made that is easier for a convert from windows.
I didn't see any problems at working in desktop for more than six months now.
How ever menus are unified for KDE and GNOME by them. This creates problem in 
installation of new packages. However menedit is good.
Unofficial Support at newbie is good by persons from mandrake once again 
unofficially.
