I hve pcqlinux 7.1 w/ a duron 850 w/ 128 ram and this machine is working like it's stuck in quicksand!!
I am getting the following three lines in /var/log/messages: ------------------------------- Nov 21 19:06:17 farzaan kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device Nov 21 19:06:17 farzaan kernel: 0b:00: rw=0, want=34, limit=2 Nov 21 19:06:17 farzaan kernel: isofs_read_super: bread failed, dev=0b:00, iso_blknum=16, block=16 ------------------------------------------------- they are being repeated hundreds of times. what could the problem be ? ps -ax gives the following line: 6238 ? R 0:00 /usr/bin/kfmclient configureDesktop there are ~ 80 - 100 lines like this one. The Pid starts at 5297 and goes upto 6238 ofcourse skipping a few nos in between. I have got the following apps running: mutt, terminals (four), abiword & gkrellm. top shows this. 7:08pm up 2:06, 6 users, load average: 5.47, 5.46, 4.98 181 processes: 171 sleeping, 8 running, 2 zombie, 0 stopped CPU states: 92.0% user, 7.9% system, 0.0% nice, 0.0% idle Mem: 118592K av, 116972K used, 1620K free, 0K shrd, 620K buff Swap: 313228K av, 85208K used, 228020K free 22708K cached what is wrong ? regards, Sharukh. -- Dr. Sharukh K.
