Both serve as MUA (Mail User Agent). Whereas mutt is easier
to use, and pretty powerful, nmh is ONLY for the real power
user who wants to incorporate mailing through scripts or
has specific mailer requirements. nmh has almost 40+ execu-
tables, and NO interface at all. Imagine just typing "next"
on the shell prompt, displays the next unread mail in your
nmh spool, which user "more" as a pager! Or typing "inc" to
get all your mail from the mail spool to your maildir !

If you do not have specialised mailing requirements, avoid
nmh. Most people grossly underutilise the raw power of nmh,
and use it with frontends like exmh and sylpheed. If you
are on emacs, then it is worth installing ...

Recommended, stick to mutt. The mutt documentation is very
exhaustive, and detailed. All your preferences are executed
through .muttrc. Can send you one with common preferences,
or look through Suresh's page (http://www.hserus.net/).

You would still have to have fetchmail, procmail, sendmail
combo installed. As a matter of fact, you can have mutt and
pine working concurrently on the same mbox files if you
keep your maildirs synchronised.

1. To send mail to someone already on your addresses:
Main Menu --> Address Book (A) --> Compose To (C)

2. To add/ delete entries in addressbook:
Main Menu --> Address Book (A) --> "@" to add
                                  --> "D" to delete

3. To yank an address from a mail you are reading to your
address book, press "T""L" ... You can then choose all
the addresses to yank to your addressbook from a List
   of addresses on that mail.

Afraid that root is snooping into your personal files ? Before
quitting in vim (viz :wq), use ':X' to encrypt your file (vim
will prompt for a password). Next edit needs password negotia-
tion. [For further details ':help :X' in vim command mode].
