Use Lokkit to disable firewall or customize firewall configuration opening
the Telnet port(23) explicitly.
Or u can also flush the Ipchains.

  In my machine telnet is not possible from other machines. ifconfig gives
correct IP number and all other information and with the same IP which it
gives, if I telnet to my own machine it works. similarly I able to telnet to
other machines also. but from other machines telnet is not working. 

  what could be the problem for this
