Sure :-) But this is not what the original question was. He wanted to
unpack the contents of the deb files. What u have mentioned is completly
different thing.

Sure :-) I have got lots of debs like that on my machine at present (
icewm, mplayer, mutt, fetchmail, etc. etc. ). Checkinstall is a really good
utility. Thanks to Shridhar who pointed out about it on this list some time
back.

add to /etc/fstab, (where /floppy is your mount point). Then,
$mount /floppy ... as an user will do the trick ...
