fromdos can do this (Dunno if this utility is available in all
platforms... Slackware has/had it.. haven't checked in a while)

Can also be done with vi

:s/^V^M//g
:wq

The ^V^M means press ^V followed by ^M (You will not see bot the ^V and ^M
though)

Or use tr
