hi vivek,
since ur LILO is corrupt..u must format ur MBR (master
boot record).
u can do this by issuing the following command from
the dos prompt:
             fdisk /mbr

then u either use ur linux floppy or use 'loadlin'
which will be in ur 'dosutils' directory if u have it
copied from ur cd.
once u are in linux check the file /etc/lilo.conf
which is the conf file for lilo...
check the timeout values and modify them if
necessary..

then at the bash prompt type this:
                                    /sbin/lilo
u shall see something like this :
                                   added linux
                                   added dos *

there u are!! next time u should be able to see LILO
working properly and u shall no longer need ur boot
floppy...
