I have the following setup as server(192.168.0.2,hostname=source) p2 333,64 M,24Ghdd This is connected using plip mode0 to 486dx 8M floppyonly notebook(192.168.0.1,hostname=target) Since it is diskless the kernel for the client is compiled with nfsroot support built in The notebook comes up using a dos floppy with loadlin.exe with the following parameters loadlin.exe \clients root=/dev/nfs nfsroot=192.168.0.2:/nfsdir/target ip=192.168.0.1:192.168.0.2:::plip0:'off' parport=0x378,7
The system boots but, it says ipconfig complete, but it refuses to take rootfs= which remains empty, finally says kernel panic unable to find init try passing init= On the server end, a)I am able to locally mount the /nfsdir/target (for testing). b)the /var/log/messages says rpc.mountd authenticated request from 192.168.0.1 for /nfsdir/target c) I am able to ping target with 0% packet loss ie 192.168.0.1 from 192.168.0.2 d) I do have plip0 link up from target to source at server also a route entry So, please help me how to proceed -shyam -- It's a poor workman who blames his tools. dge of Ishvara is gained. 23 This Ishvara is the soul, untouched by limitation, free from karma, and desire. 24 _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
