Like Kingsly had pointed out - journaled filesystems are _not_ meant for
protecting data in case of power outages. The chances of losing data
are the same with or without a journaled filesystem. The only diff would
be that you can avoid a very long fsck if a journaled FS is used.

You won't believe the number of people who keep asking this question on
the XFS mailing list - "I switched off the power during heavy disk
activity and now i lost some data. XFS sucks!".
