Incidentally, folk there is already a project in this direction
IIRC, GNU-med or something to that effect. Do some googling and
you will find it. It is presently a work-in-progress.  It  used
to be MySQL based, but then have shifted to postgres. It is one
of those postgre-apache-php type of thing ....

Last saw it quite a few months ago.

In order to search for a string in some files, use:
grep "string" filename1 [filename2 filename3 ...]
This will  print out the  filename  and the  lines in the file 
that contain the string.  Type 'man grep' for details.
