In this kind of set-up of yours, undertake partitioning from a linux root/ boot floppy set or a stand-alone distro. Use the good old legacy fdisk program to partition. If it is 20 gig and above, it may be worthwhile otherwise leave out one of the Wins. o /dev/hda1 (primary) Type 07 for NT installation 2-4 gig o /dev/hda2 (primary) Type 0C for Win-9x 2-3 gig o /dev/hda3 (primary) Type 83 for Linux 2-3 gig o The rest should be made Type 5 (Extended) and divide it into as many logicals as per your requirement. Make sure you keep at least one partition RAMx2 for Type 82 /swap. The only requirement of /boot is the 1024-voodoo. You can't avoid it in your case if you have an old BIOS. In this type of situation, your triple-boot would be best done through Win-NT, boot.ini. Install in any order, but make sure when you install Linux, LILO info is written to first sector of root (/) partition, and make at least two boot disks. You would have to boot through them till boot.ini is set. It is better to install NT last so that the boot record is that of NT, not that it cannot be written after rescue boot ! For how to make a boot.ini boot, please have a look at: http://geocities.com/usmbish/hdi-linux-NT.html Keep your /boot under / only ... good enough ...
