Yes. There are many solutions..

1)Use NIS to have central authentication.
2)LDAP is supposedly better option for central authentication.
3)You can use samba to login to an NT domain. But confirm this. I am not really 
into it.

Stupidest way... Use auto login of mandrake and put telnet hostname in 
/etc/profile.

Some suggestions. Dump telnet even on intranet. Switch to ssh instead and if 
possible use LDAP. Senior admins here advocate that over NIS. Personally I 
haven't used either of them..
