Hi all,

I have just installed a mail server on the Internet. I was trying to send
mail to an account on that server from my other account. I get the following
error:

550: Relaying Denied

I checked on the Net, I googled around quite a bit, I went through the FAQ,
and besides learning that this was quite a common problem with the newer
versions of Sendmail in order to prevent spam, I couldn't really find a
solution. The promiscuous relaying option sounds more scary than useful,
especially as this server could become a high traffic one. I tried using
poprelayd, but the documentation was inadequate and even when I finally
seemed to have got it running without throwing up errors, it didn't seem to
be filling up the access and/or relay-domain files, so I presume it still
isn't really working.

If anyone has encountered this problem and has managed to get past it, could
you please tell me how you managed it?

Thanks in advance,
PJN
