o What are .db files ? Yes you are right. They are Berckley DB
  2.X hash/ Little Endian files. These  are  binary  files and
  have been kept so to for  security  reasons, and  aviod  any
  tampering.
  
o You need to know the exact composition of the  stream to  do
  any worthwile extraction. Don't know what you need extracted
  from there. It is better to work from the source level which
  would be at /etc/access (text file) from where the .db  file
  has been created.
