Sorry for the delay, was out of town. :-(

How to create our own 'daemons' ?
Or is it that, every program running in the back-ground
*is* daemon ?

Well, re-assigning is possible thru X,
but do'nt know how to go for it, in shell. 'Cause
the concerned app - "Desi" is shell based . :-(

I do'nt want the complication of starting X and
then running shell based program in X-terminal.

Sure ! :-)

Is "Processes" different than 'Daemons' ?
Or processes may be daemons, but not necessarily ?

Yes, I have fiddled around binary-editing in DOS, sometime ago.
But it is not worth doing it, as far as time is concerned.
Instead coding your own app, is much better approach !

What do you mean by "most programs" ? Can I put my self-
developed program as daemon ?

You are damn exactly on the Bull's Eye ! I have gone thru it.
Since my "Desi" editor problem is solved with your's & Sudhir's
guidance, I have not coded the wrapper.
But I will appriciate if any-body has used the syntax of
getkeycodes etc and post me the code snippet in my personal
mail, else I will have to re-invent the wheel !
