Mr.chandrasekar,

You can do this by mounting your "C" drive of Windows as
another  filesystem in Linux. If your "C:\" is formatted
      as FAT/FAT32 then do the following

      1. Create a directory under /mnt and name it win_c
      2. Now issue the command mount /dev/hda1 -t vfat /mnt/win_c (-t
vfat supports for long file names)
      3. This mounts the c:\ as another filesystem and you can copy
files between Linux and Windows.

      However this assumes that your c:\ is named as /dev/hda1.
Replace hda1 with the corresponding hdaX.
      However if your c:\ is NTFS formatted, you will need to rebuild
your kernel for NTFS support.

      PS: I have assumed that you are trying to copy the file from
your c:\ on Machine 'A' to your Linux partition on Machine 'A'

Building your kernel for NTFS support:

For this you will need to recompile your kernel. When you are doingthis, you will have an option called File Systems or something like that.
Here select the support for MS-DOS (FAT) and NTFS too. However I
think, for NTFS you will only get READ-ONLY. Try it out and let us know. On how to do a kernel compilation go through

http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/Kernel-HOWTO.html
<http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/Kernel-HOWTO.html>

and for the latest kernel visit
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/
<http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/>

Hope this helps.
This topic was discussed once in BLUG.I am giving summary of what they discussed and which proves to be correct when you do it.
Revert back if this is helpful.

Cheers.
