Can you tell us what version of Grub you have got ?  Do an 'rpm -q grub'
and find out the version.  As Kingsly was mentioning in a connected grub
thread earlier, get the latest  version of grub v0.90/0.91.  Compile the
source and install it.

Come to the grub  prompt and embed grub in your MBR  once again with the
requisite line  for chain-loading Win 9x/Win whatever  after booting into
the GNU OS via your loadlin.

Later on you can compile the newer CVS source and start grubbing....
