I am unable to correctly configure an Avance Logic sound card with "ALS100+"
(ALS100PLUS) chipset on RedHat Linux 7.1. 'sndconfig' utility plays the first
sound sample (wave) correctly but fails on playing the midi sample. Then it
proceeds with manual configuration. It lists ALS100, but not ALS100+. Is a
driver available for it? I could not find it on Avance Logic Inc.'s website
or ALSA website. Is there a way to manually alter the ALS100 driver
configuration file to suit ALS100+? If so, how?
Surprisingly, though Linux is not able to configure the sound card, it does
work! I have tried 'mp3' and 'wav' formats. I guess it treats the card as
ALS100 and both cards seem to be similar.

Thanks,
Amol
